Certification Path

I would like to gain certification in Windows 7 related support areas but was unsure which exams exactly do I need to go for based on my pass certifications gained as follows several years back:

Microsoft Certified IT Professional
Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician

Exams passed:

620 TS: Configuring Microsoft Windows Vista Client
621 Upgrading your MCDST Certification to MCITP Enterprise Support
622 Pro: Microsoft Desktop Support – ENTERPRISE
272 Supporting Users and Troubleshooting Desktop Applications on a Microsoft® Windows® XP Operating System
271 Supporting Users and Troubleshooting a Microsoft® Windows® XP Operating System
270 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional

Please advise

That is all you need for the MCTS Config and MCITP: EDST7.

Just only taking Exam 70-682 will do?
Erm, if I wish to go one more step further to MCSA, may I know what other exams do I need?

Yes, just taking the upgrade exam will get you both since you already have the MCDST.

If you pass the 70-682 you will only need to pass 70-290 and 70-291 as the MCTS for Windows 7 will qualify as your client exam and the MCDST will qualify as your elective exam.

Nowadays is it worth at all to take 2003 Server exams (MCSA & MCSE) as "Server Administrator 2008" (MCITP) and "Enterprise Administrator 2008" (MCITP) are out in the market for quite some time?

Thing is the concepts havent changed much at all. So even if you got the MCSA and then upgraded to the MCITP:EA/SA you wouldnt go wrong. Besides as lunchbox said, lots of companies still use 2003, and if they dont have a compelling reason to upgrade to 2008, they will continue with 2003 right to the end of extended support.

and in some cases, well beyond.......

We still get a scary amount of work with Production NT4 boxes still in the mix
