Cisco Introduces New Entry-Level Certification

Have you guys/girls heard of the Cisco's new cert, Cisco Certified Technician? This cert is entry level and is different from CCENT and CCNA because it's focus is solely on troubleshooting Cisco hardware. Do you think it's meaningless and would you go for it? I think it might pick up over time.

"The CCT training and certification programs are designed for technicians who perform onsite support and maintenance of Cisco infrastructure for Routing and Switching, TelePresence and Data Center solutions"

From the looks of it, this is a certification so that someone will be knowledgeable enough to plug in the cable and do the minimal configurations necessary for someone like me to remote in and actually fix something.

The only ones that I think would be valuable are the datacenter and telepresence. The routing and switching you can just get with the ccna.

Yup like everyone else said I would stick with the CCNA, it's the cert that opened up the networking doors for me. I have a co-worker who is a PC Tech and I've been teaching him about the Unified CM side of things, I'm really pushing him to get his CCNA as it helps you understand VoIP side of things sooo much better with that networking foundation the CCNA gives you.
