Can someone help me answer as to what happens when the DHCP server detects that there are conflicting addresses?

Optionspham0329 Member Posts: 556Within DHCP, at least with Windows Servers, there's an option that allows it to check for duplicate address (by pinging it) before assigning it to a host.

Optionssaspro Member Posts: 114You can also set conflict detection on windows DHCP servers (& I think you can do it on Cisco's) so they ping the address 3 times first to make sure it's free
