Can 70-621 count as an elective for MCSA?

Might be a silly question, I know the 70-620 counts as elective for MCSA but I have the 621 which is an upgrade and is not listed on the MCSA requirements list. They both have the same title and I think 621 is combination of 620 and 622.

Has anyone used the 621 as an elective for the MCSA? If so I have just 2 exams then to complete MCSA yepee.

I currently have A+, Network+, MCDST (270 + 271), and MCITP(621).

    Negative. Upgrade exams generally can't be applied to anything other than the upgrade for which they were developed.

    BTW, your cert list on the left says MCTIP instead of MCITP.

    Oh dear looks like I have to do the 70-270 exam then but luckily I have the books ready just need the money and time to read.

    Thanks I will change that, it is suppose to be MCITP.

    No I dont but I thought that what I was left with if I could use 621 where the 620 or 270 is required.

    Although I dont see the point of me taking the 620 exam when the 621 covers both 620 and 622, I guess I might have to ring Microsoft maybe to get full clarification.

    I am not scared of the exams but I also see no point in me taking the 270 exam when my chances of seeing windows xp in the future are being reduced with every minute I waste reading for the exam considering it is being retired in 2014.

    I will upgrade my qualification when I finish my MCSA2003 to 2008.

    There seems to be some confusion. MCDST is 271 +272. You have it listed wrong. That threw me off.

    Now, MCSA is 4 exams:

    - Two exams on networking systems (70-290 + 70-291)
    - One exam on client operating systems (210, 270, 620 or 680)
    - One elective exam (your MCDST satisfies the elective)

    That leaves you with a deficit of 3 exams.

    @ cyberguypr I had listed my current certs in my initial post. I will have to go by what everyone says that an upgrade exam only qualifies as its upgrade and perhaps do the 270 too because I have the books already if I had for 620 I could have done that instead though.

    Yes. 290 and 291 satisfy the core requirement, 270 the client and 299 the elective. All appeared listed at Systems Administrator| MCSA | Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
