My goal is simple - to become the First Choice/top candidate for the next System Admin job that I apply for. I have been stuck in Helpdesk/NOC for six years now. For anyone taking the Linux+ exam, read the Roderick Smith Guide, and supplement with Google for any given topic that did not make sense to you. Do all the chapter practices and try to remember any concept that is repeated often in that book, as you already no, the exam is not all multiple choices, there quite a few multiple choices. Other than 1 question in Samba, the book covers the exam thoroughly.

Novell CLA Certified Linux Administrator and Novell Data Center Technician. Register at Novell's site to get the certs. Good luck on your RHCSA prep. I'm currently prepping for it as well.

As for Linux+/LPIC-1 there seems to be little or no interest, which I find odd, since a quick look at the news, reveals several government bodies deploying Linux boxes, either tentatively, or permanently. I have always believed it is just a matter of time, before Linux boxes are widely deployed for regular users, and looking at the state of the world now, I would say the time is right. So I decided to do the LPIC-1 before considering the Microsoft certs, since there may be a skills shortage if Linux finds its way onto the Desktop. Do you think I am making the right choice here?
