So I get a call from someone at a remote facility stating that they lost all of their IP cameras on the south side of the building. Ok, no problem. I'm on the phone with the guy and we do some troubleshooting to see what's up. The switch keeps power cycling itself. I have no remote access into the switch so I tell him he needs to send it back to me so I can see if it is a software bug or a hardware issue. He sends me this:
This is what you get when you mix electronics with chlorine vapors. Needless to say I scolded the security team for not understanding the environmental factors and selecting an industrial switch placed in a sealed enclosure or better yet, moving the equipment to a different area of the building. Oh well, at least it's only a ProCurve, it's throw away technology anyway
