Going to Interview tomorrow
I am new to this forum, with this being my first thread.
I was let go 2 weeks ago working at a Music Publishing company as a "Desktop Technical Support (Level II Support)."
I was there for 5 years.
It has been awhile having a face to face interview.
What is the best way to study for the techincal part?
Here is what the job description is:
Information Technology Support Specialist - Reports to Information Systems Director
Overall responsibility
Overall support of the technology needs of the users in the company. Maintains servers, workstations, network devices, telecommunications, wireless communications, and office equipment.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Manage all aspects of Windows based network, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File Servers, Exchange, and SQL Server
- Maintain networking equipment and infrastructure, including switches, routers, VPNs, and firewalls
- Provide support for users in remote/home offices
- Plan and assist with upgrades or changes to services for local and remote offices, working with vendors when necessary
- Maintain network security, backup, and Disaster Recovery Plan
- Support local and remote office phone systems, as well as wireless communications devices for users along with Blackberry server
- End-user software support including, MS Office applications, and ACT CRM
- MS Access development skills
- First level support for Dynamics ERP application
- Order equipment, parts, and supplies from vendors as required
Qualifications
- Microsoft certification required. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or
Information Systems, or equivalent work experience preferred
- Self-starter, with first-rate people skills, who possesses a proactive problem
solving methodology
- Working knowledge of database development
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift computers when required
