CCNP Achieved

Finally!!!

I took about 1.5 years off after passing the BSCI before picking up the SWITCH and ROUTE books to prepare for the TSHOOT. Knowing the topology by heart and having a solid strategy is key to this exam.

I am going to hit up Voice and then possibly go after CCIE R&S.

Would building the tshoot lab from scratch without any notes mean that one is ready for tshoot?

Congratulations! , the time delay must have made things more difficult , people that do tshoot after a few weeks after route or switch seem to find it easy.

Maybe but I think having a strategy in mind is equality as important. I used the divide and conquer strategy.

Mine was looked like this.

Log into host, verify the ip address configuration of the host.

If Good - Ping R1

If Good - Log into R1 and....

If Bad ....

If Bad.......

Waragi, nah, because the test is a troubleshooting exam not a configuration exam. First, understanding the lab topology will save you time. Second, you are expected to remember the routing/switching content. Third, having a basic process such as debugging up or down the OSI layers will help. It's not a particularly hard exam if you did well on ROUTE and SWITCH and do it while those are fresh in your memory. Scores of 1000/1000 are not uncommon.

IIRC, I set aside one evening to study, and took it the same day as ROUTE.
