Network + and MCITP?

I have a voucher for Network + expiring at the end of this month. Right now I'm studying for the 642 exam for MCITP:SA. Is it worth me trying to get the Net+ if I'm already working on MCITP? Or should I just try to sell the voucher (it's just a promo code)?

If you can sell the voucher, do it. No use trying to take a test you've not fully prepared for.

Pass the MCITP. Then start studying for the next cert to take it when you're ready to.

I could always schedule the test for a couple months from now, I don't have to take it by the end of the month, just schedule. Wouldn't the MCITP technically trump the Net+?

You will learn stuff in the Network + that you will not get from MCITP, you should take it.

how much are you selling the voucher for? i maybe interested in buying net+ voucher near future

Networking is different from MCITP material. It would be beneficial to take both (if possible). In addition to looking good on a resume, it expands your knowledge base and also helps decide which of part of IT interests you more, should you want to specialize (which you probably will) in the future.

Besides, CompTIA certs have breadth of knowledge but don't go very deep. If you already have knowledge on the objectives studying to pass won't take very long. The only real problem then would be the (high) cost of paying to take the exam.
