Rant: Pearson Vue Testing Centers Hours

I'm bummed I wanted to take my ICND2 today or tomorrow and come to find out all the Pearson Vue locations are closed on the weekends. and most of them don't do testing on a regular basis. All of them are closed Friday - Sunday and then various days though out hte week don't do Cisco testing. Luckily I'm taking it Monday but find it annoying I need to take some time off work just to take an exam.

I would think a lot of people would rather do their exam on a weekend not during the week.

That has nothing to do with Vue. It's the testing center that sets their hours. You can take a Vue exam any time an official testing center will proctor it.

Here in Little Rock, AR there are 2 PV testing centers and they both only test 1 day a week. There is a Pearson Vue Professional testing center, which is open 6 days a week, that I took my CISSP exam at, but they don't do Cisco or CompTIA exams. The Prometric testing center is open 7 days a week I think. Blah.

It is up to the testing center. It seems like the Pearson centers in my area have longer hours and occasional openings on the weekends more so than the Prometric centers.

I'm pissed because the center I took all my CompTIA's at seems to have shut down. And esp after hearing horror stories from other people about other testing centers, I'm not hesitant about picking where to take my CCENT.

On top of that, i wanted to take a weekend exam, and I don't think many of the other centers around me have weekend hours.

Have you considered testing further away?

If I cannot find a local test center, there's one in the Austin area (about 1 to 1.5 hours away) that is open on Saturdays.

I've taken several tests on Saturday in Austin, if a local center isn't available.

There is a local center that occasionally has Saturday hours, but it isn't reliable.

I plan to take the long drive on testing days, and it's not such a big deal.

That's how I roll. I have two local testing centers (one by my home, one by my work) and then my weekend testing center. My weekend center is a 2hr drive away. Fortunately, it's smack dab in the middle of a nice place to spend a weekend.

Like networker said, it has little to do with Vue. Testing centers set their own hours.

I feel ya. There arent any (Pearson or Prometric) that are open on the weekends out here in the Phoenix area that I have seen. As many have said, its up to the individual test center to determine hours. ONE test center had weekend hours out here years ago. It was an hour away. They closed for good about a week after that, lol.

I take mine at Mt. Laurel, only issue I had was with Microsoft MTA exam.

Weekends? Never thought about doing an exam on a weekend.

These days I work shifts, so I can do them any day of the week now depending on what I am working.

None of the centers around my area offer weekend hours, so weekends have never been an option.

Just check a little a bit ago, and they still are not an option. SO, if you have weekend options, GREAT, otherwise, you are not alone

I've always preferred to take the exams as early in the morning slot as possible, sometimes they will allow an even earlier start if you show up very early, and look patient, they'll get the machines all ready a little more quickly and let you begin. (helps to be polite!).

Looked to secure a Cisco exam for next week and most (pardon me) all the centers within a radius of 100 miles have nothing available.Perhaps it has something to do with July the 4th!
