Journey - GCIH Scheduled for the 9th of Septemeber

This thread shows my path to the GCIH Exam.

I took the class in May 2013. I have the On Demand and the books. But I am going to be only following the books. Will try to see the Videos during the weekends.

I have also taken the GSEC Class in July 2013. I intend writing the exam after I complete the GCIH. I have no real Infosec Experience but work in a secure environment with knowledge on the infosec stuff !

I work full time so the progress is going to be slow.

I have made an index after a lot of inputs from fellow TE'ers.

Any tips or advice on how to proceed will be of great help. Actual study starts from August 1st. I have another exam to go for on the 31st of July. The Se Linux paper from Redhat ( EX429 ).

    My advice is in my GSEC blog articles. You should take one of your GCIH practice exams now to discover what areas you are still weak in (one, two, or three stars), study those areas, and take you your second practice exam maybe a week before your test date if you still don't feel confidant that you will pass. Shoot for passing in the 90%+ range and join us on the GIAC Advisory Board open mailing list. :D

    I have gone through you blog articles and have come to understand that the 90% is achievable !

    I will follow your advice and I will regularly post my experience or any issues that I have come to face in the path of this exam !

    No real progress so far. Transferred the MP3's to my phone and listening to them on the way and from work. Will do one of the practice tests tomorrow to check my strengths and weaknesses and lets hope for the best.

    I initially had a dislike to audiobooks but they seem okay. I feel like I am getting a lot more than the videos. For some reason or the other something comes up whenever I start the On Demand Videos.

    Am going to attempt the first practice test today and re-evaluate my strategy. I am thinking about buying an extension in case today didnt work out !

    Hardly finding time to study with the new job , new house and new goals !

    Wrote my First Practice Test - Got a 72% which is a just pass !

    Have a few items to work on and I will be attempting the next practice test in a couple of days. Then the decision for the extension will be taken.
