already have security+ do I really need SSCP?

Like the title states. I would like to get into the security specialist field, on the comptia website on the career roadmap for security specialist, I don't see SSCP, for example.

Already have:
A+, Net+, Sec+

I have the library suite at testout/labsim, the courses I have left are:

SSCP
Linux+
CCNA
MCSA - config ms Windows 7/8 (70-680/70-687)

70-410
70-411
70-412

Not on testout's library suite list, but I might take anyway because there are a lot of hospitals and clinics in my area:

Comptia healthcare IT cert

What would you suggest I do? What certifications should I pursue? Does it make sense for me to obtain both the security+ and SSCP? Or should I skip the SSCP and move onto another cert? What should my security roadmap ultimately look like and in what order should I proceed?

Ok I guess I do need CISSP in the end. So SSCP would be a stepping stone to that end? Someone mentioned I could take one of the two CCNA exams and SSCP and use that as my path towards CCIE. Is that true?

I am thinking along the lines of data security or network security.

That's not accurate. There are no prerequisites for the CCIE. That said, you must be an expert and know the tech inside and out. The content of the CCNA and SSCP aren't even going to get you close. Think of it like and Associates degree vs. PhD.

^This guy is right. CCIE is serious business. It's one of the most difficult exams in the industry. You'll need to some good hands on experience for that one. The prep will require lots of dedication.

If you're going for network security, I would suggest CCNP-Sec. It covers VPN, Firewall, IDS/IPS, and router/switch security. You'll need the CCNA then CCNA-Sec first though.

If you want to take a stab at Offensive Sec try out CEH then go after some of the GIAC certs or even try the super difficult OSCP.
