Hey all,
Long time lurker over the last decade, first time poster

After years in the wilderness being stuck in Desktop Support I finally broke out into 3rd line.
Specialization from here seems more important than ever. And a recent co-worker of mine reminded me of the importance of certs.
But what direction do I go from here? I had a CCNA many years ago and never got to use it. I have to say that I don't have a massive passion for a Networking-only career.
Storage? Seems to be big now. Again, interesting to me but not overriding everything else.
Windows stuff is interesting but it seems like being a Windows-generalist is a sure route to low money for the rest of your life.
SQL? I don't want to be a DBA.
Dev-Ops looks interesting because it rewards a number of different disciplines.
My huge problem is that I like variety a lot. But I need to specialize. I feel sometimes like just flipping a coin so I can choose an area of specialization.
Anyone ever have this problem or have any advice?
