Any one know how legitimate Central Piedmont Community College and this course is? Doesn't seem to be a lot of detailed information on the site.

I see a Piedmont Community College, but it is at piedmontcc.edu not cpcc.edu

It could be a good resource I was just a little hesitant since the originating link is from craigslist.

I assumed it was legitimate since they said they are a partner. I am knew to this so maybe a bit more due diligence in the future. A community college should never stoop to that level. Their reputation is on the line! I work at a college at we would never allow anything to be harmful to our students. This thing called accreditation keeps its shadow near by. Accreditation is a huge deal in academia.

is Vsphere 5.1 a good way to go?
I know they are on Vsphere 5.5 and 6.0 now.
Just wondering.

Like previous poster inquired, is VSphere 5.1 even a decent option considering v6 is out? Would v5.1 meet requirements for v5.5 Cert?

There is no "5.5 cert" - there is only a "5.x cert".

Multiple exams exist based on particular vSphere versions, VCP510 is on 5.0/5.1 and VCP550 is on 5.5, but passing either grants the same VCP5-DCV certification.

The version of the training and of the exam do not need to match though, so you can take a 5.1 class then pass the VCP550 exam if you wish.
