New Juniper Networks Design Curriculum

I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, so I'll throw it out there. New certification track! Woooo! Now we can all add Design to our collections ;)

Design Certification Track - Juniper Networks

Juniper Networks Certified Design Associate (JNCDA), based off the Juniper Networks Design Fundamentals (JNDF) course, is currently available to take.

The JNCDS and JNCDP tracks are still in the works and coming soon. The Specialist and Professional exams should come out focusing on different technologies, similar to how the JNCIS and JNCIPs courses and exams do today. I thought they were announced publicly, but I'm not finding that tonight, so I'll leave the surprises for later... ;)

I was planning on taking this exam asap and letting you know how it is, but after a surprise "you've got 30-days to renew your Cisco stuff" email, I need to focus elsewhere for the next few weeks.

This looks great! I was wondering if Juniper was planning on some sort of design track. Looking forward to hearing about your experience with it, Zoiberg!

I know its probably too soon to say, but will there be any fast-track material for this?

Do you have any information if there will be a study guide available on Juniper site just like for JNCIS-SEC/ENT/SP, JNCIA?
I have no information regarding availability of JCNDA in my country so the only option is a self-study.

I have absolutely no clue. I've heard very little regarding this program outside what has been publicly announced in Junipers recent training email and website updates.

I personally don't expect Juniper will include Design Track into Fast Track Program.

BTW - I have just taken practice test for this exam and achieved: 75% (passing score). I have already scheduled my test for: 15.06. Before the test I will definitely review Solution Designs and Architectures docs on Juniper's TechPubs.
As soon as I get back from the exam I will definitely write an update with my opinion about this exam.

seems like an interesting introduction from Juniper. I'm curious to see what Juniper has to say in design..

Just did the practice test as well. Curious to see how the types of questions and difficulty compare to the real exam. I expect about the same as the course material looks like a very high-level intro into design considerations and this is the associate level. I'm going to start flipping through the course material to check it out, and will be booking the exam as soon as my voucher comes through and I can find a date (hopefully early next week).

Well, good course material and exam.

The course material is a pretty good intro into design. Focuses a lot on understanding the customers requirements and responding to them. It's very high level technically, so I did lose focus a number of times studying this, but there were still a number of new things I learned and picked up here. Does a good explaining how and why to position different technologies to meet customer requirements. Attending the actual course would be more effective though as it opens up the opportunity for discussion, debate, and comparing ideas.

The exam was pretty good. In comparison to the practice exam, I think the difficulty and types of questions were pretty similar. Went thru the exam in a third of the time and lost only a couple points over some specifc specs that I never bother to stop and commit to memory.

Looking forward to diving deeper and more technical in the JNCDS and JNCDP tracks :)

I am sorry for a delay with an update from my side.

Due to urgent projects I had to postpone original date of this exam from: 15.06 to today.

I have just returned from Prometric examination center (happy since i passed) and I can also share some details related to this exam from my side:
    - preparation material:
I don't have this luxury as @zoidberd and I didn't have an access to original course documentation from Juniper - although I have already requested my BIG BOSS to just buy these materials. As a preparation I used materials from Partner Design Courses available on Juniper Academy. As I have already passed all these exams - I downloaded fresh course materials and reviewed all of them - except Branch part - since this was out of the scope for this exam.
    - exam:
Although received better score from the exam then from practice test - I feel like it doesn't show complexity of this exam. It was a little bit "easier" than a real exam. As always - I do believe going through official course materials would be the best option for this exam. I didn't feel like Juniper Partner course material refresh I did helped me a lot - so don't follow this path icon_smile.gif. I was more my experience and general exposure to Juniper technologies which helped me a lot in this case.

Taking this exam tomorrow. Just finished the practice exam on Juniper's website w/ a 95%... so I guess I'm as ready as can be. We'll see...
