Passed!
Stuart Clowes
Passed this morning with a score of 'Passed'! Took me about 3 hours.
Observations
1. It's totally passable!
2. You sign an NDA.....
3. Freepracticetests are marginally harder than the real thing.
4. Experience got me through a few questions.
Prep materials -
Freepracticetests.org - did ALL of the questions
CISSP for Dummies - cover to cover
11th Hour CISSP - cover to cover
Shon Harris AIO - only on tough topics
Official Guide - Read sections on Testing and more modern web stuff
Good luck everyone!

Congratulations! What's next inline for you?

I've been studying for about 6 months, for about 5 hours per week, averaged out. My approach was to draw a mind map (Simplemind) for each topic after reading the Dummies book, then use the long answers from Freepracticetests.org to flesh them out.
Next for me is to watch some Doctor Who DVDs and play Lego with the kids.
Probably going to spend some time getting a deeper understanding of some of the InfoSec tooling at work and start building a controls framework. Basically, look for opportunities to apply the knowledge.

Congrats
Your feedback helps me a lot on my current study plan.
Got similar study materials (except for the dummies). Been switching between Conrad / Shon harris and cyberay.
I do 4 hours/day slowly churning the concepts and taking notes..
I did not buy the Official CBK after reading the bad reviews.
Post-exam Feedback like these does motivate many.
Thanks again.

Quick question and hopefully this doesn't violate any kind of NDA. Should I be studying the TSEC levels and what they do? I ask this because CCCure has a handful of questions on specific levels. Thanks.
Stuart Clowes
It would be wrong for me to say what questions I did, or didn't get!
My advice would be to check the Exam Outline and then the official guide.
The official guide is a horrible read, but at least it is 'official'.

No worries, I understand. Congrats and good luck on maximizing the potential of your new shiny credential!

Congrats! Just curious why you picked the Dummies book over Conrad's Study Guide.
Stuart Clowes
I chose it simply because it got good Amazon reviews.

One more bit of info ... I averaged 82% on the first pass through freepracticetests.org questions.

Congrats on the pass Stuart.
The mind map was a good idea. I used the Dummies as well and thought it was a good resource. It "dumbed" it down for me to ingest the info.
Used the freepracticetests as well and thought those questions were more challenging then the actual exam.
I took the now "old" exam btw.

congrats
