How to break into SCADA?

I hear a bit about SCADA but haven't seen any resources to get to know them better. Anybody have some recommendations?

I have worked on different systems a little bit. Its my impression they are all snowflakes and other than being computers, there is not much similarity.

The last one I worked on was a Siemens product with active support. The support guys I spoke with several times said they usually need a few tries to get it (initial setup) right...not inspiring.

Ha that's a bummer. I'll have to do some research. I like the odd machines that we can add into a network.

The good news is they are usually very crude/rudimentary. The machine I was working on was $35K and ran on Windows NT 4.0, which was nice because there is 20 years worth of "rigging and hacks" to make things worth with that OS.
