The price is what?!

The cost to take this cert is $250?! Are you kidding me? I thought these add-on-to-your-CCNA tests were like $125, so I was budgeting for that. Holy moley, if I don't pass the first time, this cert will cost me at least $500 - half a grand. The Saudi Arabian oil minister could learn a lot from Cisco about price gouging.

It is a separate track...not really an add-on because CCENT is the only prerequisite. Get use to it because certs under $200 are non-existent especially once you get out of entry-level.

Yup, these cert costs go up as much as the tolls do. However, you could claim it as a work or school expense on your taxes, if it is a job or school requirement.

CompTIA makes CCNA Security for $250 a bargain.

The CompTIA Security+ is $300. $250 for the CCNA: Security isn't bad.

No kidding. If not for their prices, I would have picked up Network+ and Security+ before they dropped the lifetime certs. As much as I dislike their exams, Microsoft actually has the best prices, especially (at least as of 3-5 years ago) with the student discount (and/or Free Second Shot voucher, which they'll occasionally offer), which neither Cisco nor CompTIA offer. I paid $60 for my Active Directory exam (Student Discount).

If only. I guess I had my mind on the CCENT and ICND tests I took and their prices.
