I passes the ITIL foundation today with a score of 75, not great but i guess pass is a pass.

Yes. In ITIL every certification above foundation requires attending the associated class. There are some companies out there offering online versions of these courses, however, I would not recommend anything other than instructor-led training for anything above foundation.

Yes you have to take a class with an accredited training organization or else you can't sit for the exam for anything above foundation. -
