Re: Agile Certified Practitioner
Comment by mikelau13 · · Home› Certification Preparation› Other Certifications› Project Management CertificationsI passed the ACP exam in my first attempt using the Mike Griffith's book, but please notice that I have read that book 3 times. I found that PMI-ACP is very unique comparing with exams of few other similar areas such that SCM, PMP, ITIL, MOF etc. The PMI-ACP is teaching you the technique to tailor the process; while most… -
Re: TechRepublic Top Ten Certs
There is too much overlap on this list for it to be taken seriously. If an MCITP is on the list, MCTS should not and SERVER+ and A+ should not either for that matter. That eliminates a third of the Certs on this list. Removing the Apple certs puts you at the halfway marker and I havent seen any sonicWall deployments so… -
Re: Question for WGU.edu Students & Alumni
Comment by erpadmin · · Home› Certification Preparation› Microsoft› MCTS / MCITP on Windows 2008 GeneralI had some college and A+/Net+ before I started WGU. I am also taking subsidized loans (I make too much for Pell Grants), but I also receive a WGU scholarship of $600 (see my sig) a term. I actually preferred to go the WGU route to earn my EA as it puts a gun to my head to get my certs and degree done. If left up to me, I… -
Re: Barnes and Noble Rant!
I'm special! LOL. I mentioned it in my PMP thread. Though petedude, your comedic timing is off...had you waited until tomorrow...it would have been exactly two years since I made this thread! Says who?! As Petedude stated earlier, there used to be a B&N on like almost every block. Fast forward to today, many stores have… -
Re: How do you display your certs?
I would only frame my most important certification and my degrees. That's me personally, if N+ was my most accomplished cert I would frame it, however my ITIL service transition is my most cherished certification. When I study the exam I was actually implementing a new service. That is a special certification that actually… -
Re: 2k3 versus 2k9 version
Thanks fellas! I haven't had much time to read all the posts here in this section, thanks for not beating me up about it. Now that I am moving forward with WGU, I want to get all my ducks in a row and your feedback is very helpful. I'll use the 2k9 versions then. And to think, I went to the doc today to get something to… -
Re: Passed CISA today - 11-Jan-2019
Unfortunately, there is no way you can check that out unless you received an e-mail from them. This one about being the 2nd highest CISA scorer for South Africa. https://www.slideshare.net/SimangaShongwe/cisa-exam-top-scorer-simangaliso-robert-shongwe-3 This is from ISACA, listing top score for each exam(worldwide for… -
Re: Career Change into IT
Do you want to be an engineer, IT project manager, technical writer, Programmer? I assume you already have a masters degree in Teaching. --Engineer ---> Comptia Certs/Linux/Microsoft/Cisco/Juniper/etc --> Long time to get out of entry level --IT Project Manager ---> Security+ ---> PMP ---> Six Sigma --->CISSP Associate -->… -
Re: Help Desk to Network Engineering
Nothing is a substitute for hard work, experience, and education. I did two internships in college (one with Cisco) then after I graduated from RIT with my MS I was hired on into a NOC position with a defense contractor. At the time I had my CCNA and Security+, I busted tail in the NOC and within 3 months I was promoted… -
Re: CCIE or Not?
I think you have a lot of certifications already. Just see what's your NEXT career target is, and plan ahead. I agree with the guys who said that having a CCNP not backed up with experience is not a good sign. So what's your next career step? 1) Networking ==> move to a full time Networking job so you can learn more on the…
