Re: Path advice
If you are asking if you should get certifications or a bachelor degree then my answer is do both. I don't recall ever seeing a position for a computer security position that did not require a college education. If you must choose between one or the other because of limitations on resources then I'd say go to college. I… -
Re: Starting an MBA.
Yes for sure. here is a small writeup. The contacts I made in the program were great. But more so the quality of people not necessarily their positions. I usually get asked in every job interview “Oh, we see you have an MBA blah… why didn’t you get an MS in cyber like all the other IT security people” or something to that… -
Passed Security+ today
So I sat my sec+ today and passed!! I got a 779. It was my first attempt. When I submitted questions and finished the exam I was reasonably certain I passed but was still a bit iffy if I had or had not. Which was due to(and I know everyone says it) the way the questions a phrased and the grammar. Sometimes I'd have to read… -

CISSP Passed 12/11 & SSCP Passed 12/14
I provisionally passed the CISSP certification on December 11/2017. I’ve been studying since August 7th 2017, so roughly 4 months of study-time. On average, I studied about 2 hours after work each day and longer on the weekends. I’d take some days off here and there because my brain tends to get overwhelmed with the vast… -
CISSP Pass!
[FONT=&]I passed the CISSP today! It was 100 questions of anxiety, such an emotional roller coaster. I copied the review I published on LinkedIn. Hopefully it can help others in their journey :) Today, I had the opportunity to sit for the (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) exam, which I… -
How I Passed the CISSP
So, even though it has only been about a week since I passed the exam, I have received multiple messages asking how to study as well as what are the “main things” they should study in order to pass. Many others have contributed to this group in some way, and now that I have had a little bit of time to process things, I…
