Re: Who REALLY needs a CISSP?
Paul78 nailed it, it basically comes down to the employer. Instead of using NICCS I would just look through linkedin or theladders or indeed and you'll see that almost EVERY Infosec job that pays over $100K requires either CISSP or CISM (inconjuction with a BA or MS/MBA preff). I assume it's because if you get someone in… -
Re: CISSP Prep question
While i understand CISSP is no way an entry level exam unfortunately things are slightly different in Canada. You cannot break into security field by any means without at minimum having a CISSP or CISA or CISM. This is the canadian Market unfortunately. To break the HR filters you need to have at minimum one of those… -
Re: C|CISO Passed 11/15/17
@jumblerr, we met again. Congratulations bro, a job well done. Did you take the Exam through ProctorU online Proctoring? How much is the voucher? What study material did you make use of? How much of study time? How did you qualify to sit for the exam, I mean the whole process. I have been looking to write this Exam after… -
Re: Company has concerns about job jumps
Sorry to hear about that. I feel like my company feels the same way. I have more professional certs than my entire team (my manager doesn't even have any Professional Security certs), and I am the guy at the bottom of the ORG in my department (InfoSec). When my ISO stayed silent about endorsing me if I took the CRISC exam… -
Re: Eight Emerging IT Certifications For 2013
What a silly article. I can't speak to the value of some of these, but some are clearly bad choices and the others are questionable. GreenIT is totally worthless. CWNA is kind of meh. I haven't seen that most developer positions require certifications. Obviously VCP and CISM are good picks, but overall this is just another… -
Re: 8570 - IAM III Prereqs
It's 1 certification from the category. So, IAM III would be either CISSP, GSLC, or CISM. The newest change is now you are also required to have a computing enviroment (CE) certification in the area you primarilly work. DoD Mandate 8570 states that in addition to the baseline IA certification requirement for their level,… -
Re: Certification Plans for 2009
I like these threads... optimism reins supreme this time of the year. I pushed back CCENT to Feb 17th because I have been side tracked with job interviews and holiday stuff. 2009... CCNA, some MS exams (MCSA?), and then maybe CISA or CISM in December. I have been watching the Career Academy CEH videos and I would love to… -
Re: Starting to study again... CISSP - Nov 13th
The answering method i used for both CISA & CISM is not to look at any answer options while or after reading the question. I would try to come up with the answer and then see the options one by one(while covering the others using the scranton sheet). This helped me a lot. I was able to finish both the exams with atleast 45… -
Re: Failed again ISSMP 23th September
asadzz I've tried to contact you through the forum but I couldn't. I'm taking the ISSMP next Tuesday. I've read the CBK and was pretty confident until I read about your journey and especially your opinion on the CBK content being not helpful at all during the exam. I've passed the CISM recently; I'm counting on what I've… -
Re: CISA - CISSP Overlap
Go through the Database of questions and understand the concepts. If you find that the security portion is not an issue you can skip, but no harm in passing over the questions to give you a flavour of the exam. I personally would recommend for you to go over all the questions if you can and understand the right/wrong…
