Re: Anyone playing WoW Classic?
I played on a couple of third party servers before, not sure if they still exist. It was free to play, but if you donated some $, they gave you boosts to your character. There were people that were level 200 on the servers, since there was no level cap. Also there were restrictions using certain spells as it would crash… -
Re: MCSA Desktop or server?
Comment by Theegg911 · · Home› Certification Preparation› Microsoft› MCSA / MCSE on Windows 2012 GeneralIf you feel you want to be in a job where you support desktop workstations then a Windows 7 MCSA would be helpful to show the employer you have the knowledge to at least know how to manage the OS. I would recommend the Windows 8 MCSA however. I work for a consulting company and we have already upgraded 2 of our Customer's… -
Re: SANS - Master's Degree
JD, I like you, and I respect you, but I honestly feel like you ignored everything I wrote simply because I despise SANS. I didn't say there was a moral requirement to offer training, materials, or certifications for free. In fact, I never mentioned the word "free". I have spent ~$3,800 YTD in training materials and… -
Re: down and out no jobs no calls........
It's a very, very tough economy out there. With clearance military/security jobs are on offer. With extensive experience in the banking sector you could get in with a bank. Both of those areas are hiring but it is competitive since the last round of layoffs. Service providers are looking for talent mainly because they have… -
Re: Kaspersky: Apple '10 years behind Microsoft in terms of security'
I would make an educated assumption that it is much, much smaller than Microsoft's. Keep in mind, Apple is actually a "larger" company in terms of market cap at this point, but here's the key difference. The vast majority of MS' business is software. Outside of the Xbox, pretty much everything is Windows and Windows-based… -

Re: Is IT the worst career like these people said?
There are some good points already made above. I tend to take AverageJoe's point of view that work wouldn't be called work if it was exceptionally fun all of the time. :) For me IT has provided several things that I don't think I could get in any other field, or at least not all of them in one job. Job security - tech is… -
Re: Resume Critique, first time writing in English
Inconsistent capitalization: You appear to be capitalizing your items, and then you mix in some things that are not capitalized. I would just capitalize all of the terms you have listed under Software and Hardware. Also, you placed some jobs in all CAPS (INTERN1, INTERN2), and some in mixed case (Job 1, Job 2, etc.) When I… -
Re: RHCSA resources
I just passed the RHCSA yesterday on RHEL 7 so here's my take. To my knowledge there isn't an up to date book for the RHCSA nor the RHCE on RHEL 7 like there is for RHEL 6 with Michael Jang and a couple others. Most likely because they started administering test on RHEL 7 relatively recently (spring of this year if I had…
