Re: how does the difficulty of the practice exams on this site compare to the actual test
Another thing to consider is the number of questions and the amount of time. You'll have 100 questions on the exam and only 90 minutes to complete it. With this in mind, you only have about 1 minute to complete each question. Don't let that scare you. Prepared test takers normally finish with time to review the test.… -
Re: Certs chasing
I’m not sure when I will quit, I guess it depends on the jobs I want to apply for. My main goal is to apply, attend WGU, and earn certs that are related to the WGU degree I want to obtain. This will happen after I finish my current AAS degree at my current college. I have scheduled the A+ 702 for June I want to do the… -
Re: Cryptography
I didnt mean that by using this site as a fourth resource that it was lowest in quality or anything... I just ment that it would be one of my four source as far as reading goes... I suppose I should have phrased that better :) I know that the Sybex practice questions have all been very easy, then I come here and decide to… -
Re: CEH, where do I start
Honestly your security+ prepped you for the security theories, guidelines and practices. However your networking skills need a lot of work. I would continue to get the network+ then follow up and get the CCNA. Another option you have, if you haven't invested much time in the network+ exam, I would drop it entirely and jump… -
Re: CIW Certification
To validate any certification's worth, simply use a job search site like Indeed, Dice, Monster, etc.. and look for that certification. I personally like Indeed due to the metrics that are available on the left hand column. While these metrics aren't 100% spot on, they are decent sample of the job market within a given… -
Re: Casp ROI?
Go to Indeed.com, use CASP as your keyword (the box on the left), and search for positions. I don't think CASP is meaningful outside US Department of Defense or US govt jobs. I'm a defense contractor and CASP seems to be used as a poor man's CISSP around these parts. If you play 8570.1 chart Bingo, you cover more spots… -
Re: Passed n10-006
Hi, thanks so much for your comments, I used a lot of resources to prepare as this is my 2nd attempt it at. I used Mike meyers all in one, exam cram, Mike meyers totalsem simulator and practice questions which I find a lot simple compared to the exam, it's still a very good resource to prepare. I also went through… -
Re: CyberSecurity Student question about certs
I'm guessing you have a security clearance, given your military background. That's worth a lot right there. A lot of DoD jobs want people to have a security clearance and the CompTIA Security+ cert: https://certification.comptia.org/certifications/security So if you have just those two things, you can probably get a foot… -
Re: Seeking Entry into InfoSec
A+ is a HUGE achievement - it's not an easy exam. Take pride on that accomplishment once you finish. You then have to to decide on either Networking (or at least get familiarity with it) and then go for your Security+ certification. Try Google and search for Free Technical courses taught at different colleges/universities.… -
Re: Failed 70-685 today score 547
I feel you, got a 554. Cramming and labbing now while the test is still fresh in my head, though I know the questions will mostly be different. I found the CBT Nuggets videos to be a good refresher on the technologies, but don't use it as your only form of study as it is very broad. The MS Press book is more in depth, but…
