Re: CCIE Security Cert preparation
It has been a while since I took my CCIE Security Written....(I actually let it expire....for now). But, when I took it, I did use the book that you mentioned. It is a good book. I also had all the Cisco Press books for the CCSP track.....along with all the Bosons for that track. I am sure you could do the same now, but I… -
Re: Worth it to do Net+ after Sec+?
Thank you all for the input. I would like to delve deeper into security, but I still need to maintain a certain level of foundational knowledge in networking, and I think working on either Network+ or CCNA would be sufficient for that. Is it usually considered valuable to have some breadth of knowledge (for example, a… -
Re: CCNP Wireless resources
Yeah unfortunately cisco is losing the battle for the wireless certs recognition. The last thing you want to do is get into the wireless cert battle and not have a dedicated series for your exam. Pretty lame on cisco's part and the entire wireless section's management overseeing the exams. Sorry dudes but you failed on… -
Re: Skills you are missing
I'm in Cloud Security and at this point I would say mine is on 2 levels : Technical : Scripting and overall automation advanced knowledge. I'm picking that up after I finish my CCSP. Interpersonal : As an advisor / Architect, I need to be very relatable & friendly so customers enjoy our interactions and open up in order… -
Re: Help on IT route to take? Calling all IT pros!
Thanks mikej yeah I have a lot of experience with windows 2003 but it will be expiring soon; I think I have enough experience to understand windows 2008 servers stuff to understand the differences..so I think I might to do the ccnp, ccvp, ccsp and mcitp-ea and then ccip and ccnp(wifi). so I can be well rounded. would like… -
Re: Cisco Certification Path Decision
I think the concentrations can help someone discover what path they want to take. It also will help broaden your skillset and widen your base. I personally think all of the CCNA concentrations will help me when I move on to CCNP, CCDP and CCSP. I will have to disagree about them not being recognized, I know the interview I… -
Re: Post your study tips and methods here
Btw, I'm studying for my CCNA right now. I took the Cisco Networking Academy a few years ago in High School. I'm now in my last year of college and after taking a CCNA geared class and a CCSP geared class, I felt it was time to finally knock it out. :) I tried the videos, but I felt I learned more when I read. But the… -
Re: Passed thanks to encouragement from Techexams members
Well, I'm enrolled in classes that start soon for Exchange 2007, Server 2008, Active Directory and Linux+. I've probably bitten off more than I can chew, but the courses are relatively cheap and will give me more structure than self-study. I figure I can always drop any that are too overwhelming or uninteresting. C|EH, and… -
Re: postpone because of work
Thanks guys. I am lucky that I get to work with the stuff. So that really helps the certification process. And using any cisco gear makes testing on it easier. But I know that I am not ready for the 801, actually I feel better about the 802, just because I use more of the technology that is on the 802. HOwever I still… -
Re: Certified CISSP CPE requirement compliance
Easy way... Pluralsight or other CBT.. 1 hour = 1 CPE. Reading ISC2 magazine for 2 CPE each (6 time a years) = 12 CPE. 1 or 2 conference or training per year.. a lot of CPE in a fun format :) Also, multiple ISC2 cert mean that CPE could count to each of your certs if the activity apply to the domain of all your CPE. But I…
