Re: Where Next?
The CCNP is the most common Cisco Certification to get after the CCNA -- but finding a job that lets you use your CCNA knowledge and skills to gain real world experience is probably the better choice. The only place I can think of that might want a CCNP with no experience would be a consulting company that's happy to bill… -
Re: IT DIRECTOR???
$100k at current exchange rate (1.93 is about £52,000. In the UK at the moment CCNAs can get anything from £20-£25 / hour contracting depending on experience. That's based on a max work rate of 37 hours / 52 weeks giving £48.750 (thats getting close to $100k) CCNP/CCSP etc can typically contract at £25-£35 (£68k / $130k)… -
Re: Welcome to the World CCIP
Comment by TranscenderMichael · · Home› Certification Preparation› Cisco› CCNP› CCNP Service ProviderMost individuals will go after the CCNP, as it relates to routing, switching, remote access and support. Most everyone who touches a Cisco router needs to understand those concepts. The CCIP relates more to internetworking, particularly for service provider networks. And to be quite honest, I'd never consider taking the… -
Re: CCIE Security
Guilty, sorry, work's been hell for months...it's slowly starting to quieten down and we have some more manpower on the way so mebbe I'll be able to get on more. To the OP as has been said it's very subjective. Your experience, dedication, support at home, learning ability, budget (for the quality of training materials,… -
Re: Just entering IT field
I agree with TBLTZ. $40k is a lot to start with for an entry-level IT job nowadays. Depending on your location, and the state of the IT careers in your area, a more sensible goal would be between $25k and $30k. Basically, if you have good soft skills (customer service, personality, etc.), you should be able to find… -
Re: Need help For CCDA!!!
I didn't have a problem with the touchy-feelie business/technical requirements/contraints/goals -- it was the unexpected IP Telephony questions. I had 2 or 3 testlets, and it was at a level I wouldn't even have expected on the ARCH test. And I only remember 1 IP Telephony testlet on ARCH and I think it might have been an… -
Re: CCVP vs CCNP
The CCNP (at least the old one) took the CCNA and kicked it up a few notches. There was new stuff, but it was expanding and extending what you had learned in the CCNA. With the CCVP -- you ain't in Kansas anymore Toto. I'm not sure if its really harder.... its more strange and different if you don't have a Telephony… -
Re: CCNP or CCVP ?
Check out the CCVP FAQ -- it has a Can I go straight from the CCNA to the CCVP without doing the CCNP? section. Yes -- but so is the CCSP. Depends on your background (and personalty). It can be a shock for a data person to try and figure out the voice world -- but if you like scary movies, then you'll probably be okay.… -
Re: BSCI Today...
BCMSN next....just have to review some more content and watch the CBT Nuggets for a brush up. It looks like BCMSN will not be attempted till January. Holiday season is rough. I will be starting the ICSW and ONT material during my winter break, then I start a CCIE independent study course with Mike aka Stotic and a few… -
Re: Palm Vein Scan
http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/ilcs3.asp?ActID=3004 Illinois has one of the strongest biometric protection laws and recently made the news. Thus if IC2/CCSP is now requiring finger/hand prints for test taking this could be an issue if they aren’t doing prospered informed consent and protecting/using the data…
