Re: Need advice on education, certification, and experience aspects of IT.
Army...you have 3 options. I wouldn't go for Windows Server 2003, as 2008 has been out for a few years. I would do some research on google on the different certs and the operating systems that are out there first. You said you have A+...working towards N+, look on the CompTIA website for more info on Linux+. 1. You can… -
Re: Linux+ Beta still alive
well I didn't take the beta on this one, and I am still waiting on the results from my Server+ beta. So the biggest thing is patience I guess - you have to wait a few weeks to months to get your results. I suck at the patience thing. And just about every time I forget about it, some kind soul (ahem, dynamik) mentions it to… -
Re: Survey
I don't have initmate knowledge with this particular exam, but I know that atleast for all the MS exams I have taken they are not "adaptive" The survery shouldn't have anything to do with what questions posed to you, if this were possible I am sure everyone would list that they are weak in all areas strong and vice versa,… -
Re: Its GO time! Test @ 4pm today. Questions on what to expect.
Ah, no...not a way to really do that without breaking NDA. (or you may visit CompTIA's website and review their FAQ and other notes about the exams) ******* personally, I do not support the use of practice tests as a means to prepare for the exam. You should use: 1. The objectives - to narrow down the topics to be… -
Re: Taking a BREAK on TECHNICAL CERTIFICATIONs!!
I am in a similar situation, maybe in reverse. I have a B.S in Business Administration, PMP, and hopefully soon a CISSP. I started doing some of these entry level IT certs to give my resume a more well rounded look. I enjoyed doing the CompTIA certs, and I may do some more IT certs in the future. (CCNA? Some MS certs?)… -
Re: Critique me (resume and cover letter review)
@rsutton It is with great interest that I am forwarding my resume for consideration as a Desktop Support Professional within your organization. Enclosed is my resume outlining nine years of extensive customer service work, as well as applicable technical knowledge, training, and hands-on experience. In addition to applied… -
Re: Do You Ever Regret Your Decision to Work in IT?
I hit some road blocks here and there, and it hasn’t been easy to bounce back. It’s kinda a bummer that there are not more people aren’t in the IT program at my school. Also, I I’m not happy with the Comptia situation concerning certification renewal policy. However, I keep pressing on knowing that my ultimate goal is to… -
Re: CCNA Preparation Help
If its just the intro, I could pass that right now with the information I've already gathered/learned. There hasn't been a single question I didn't know the answer to on the INTRO (from practice tests, example questions, and brain **** I've looked over)... however, they neglected to specify if its just intro or the entire… -

Re: Server + D-Day
Hi eternal85, Sorry to hear about your bad experience. It's been over a year since I took this exam, and I felt the same way about the vagueness, and I passed, but just by the skin of my teeth...75%. But, I'll take it. You don't want to get any of those cheating materials to use. They may get the real questions, but they…
