Re: Studying CISA as a Recent Grad
I took CISM with less than 18 months relevant experience (albeit I wasn't a recent grad as I'd made a career change), but did so to show willing to my boss at the time that I was not only interested in, but could understand the concepts in the subject areas. I haven't applied for certification yet, but will probably do so… -
Re: Query on Exin EX0-105 - Information Security based on ISO/IEC 27002
Thanks JD but it's hard to tell. Irish job ads rarely mention certs other than MCSE and CCNA and ads for roles in the infosec field tend to name Sec+ and CISSP/CISM but no others. I think recruiters and HR folks use a lot of general keyword scanning rather than specific credentials search during CV selection. I thought… -
Re: Anyone that took the test in March/April get notification that they are certified yet
yap long wait .. Interestingly it took me 13 days to prepare for exam, and 7 weeks and 1 day to get endorsement :) I did some preps in 2012 then due to some family commitments couldn't attempt, didn't study anything until I realized it on 29 March that exam format is changing, after lot of encouragement from friends n wife… -
Re: PJ's WGU Progress Thread - MSCSIA (start date August 2016)
I agree with albinorhino. Your CCNA:Sec and CISSP already qualify your for the program. The main reason I did the CEH and CHFI prior to enrolling for the MSCSIA was because WGU would not accept me into the MSCSIA program with their BSIT in Network Administration as a prerequisite (even though a degree in networking… -
Re: what next/what order should i take these in - help
I'd break the Cisco stuff out separately and either focus on pure security or pure network. Might be an easier flow that way. I'd also skip the SSCP if you meet the CISSP prereqs. CSSLP will be OK in terms of expanding your knowledge regarding the topic, but you won't see it on resumes and it won't have a ton of real life… -
Re: IT Jobs Thriving
I've seen this trend coming for YEARS. Hence the reason that I am halfway through my BS in Business Administration from one of the top 50 B schools in the nation, University of Florida. I felt adding that to my A.S. in Computer Networking, my IT certifications that I have and am pursuing (Security+, CISSP, CISA, CISM), and… -
Re: Itpro.tv
I think it is worth it. At that price, you get quite a lot for the money. Even someone who has too many books and Udemy courses that are still unread/unwatched or incomplete, there are some things there. It's one of the few places I've seen Apple training videos (apart from Apple). It also has (brief) courses on CISA, CISM… -
SANS MSISE vs MSISM
I am pretty set on trying for one of the SANS masters degrees, but not sure which one would be better. I feel like I am leaning towards the MSISM program because of the fact I would eventually like to be in a higher InfoSec managerial position. I currently hold a Bachelor's in computer science with a high GPA and was… -
Completed All 4 ISACA Exams
Hi All After 3 years of hard work, I completed my last ISACA exam and got a preliminary result as Passed! Here are my feedback about the certifications. I felt CISM and CISA were easiest ones, followed by CGEIT, and CRISC being the most difficult one. My study materials were reading the official book from ISACA site once… -
