GCIA and GCIH completed
Hi All, Haven’t posted for a while so thought to give some feedback on my GIAC exam attempts. GCIH: I used the Sans study guides, Audio recordings and tools on the USB drive. I went through the materials once where found some overlaps from my CISSP and CISA certifications. Completed all the labs and one practise exam where… -
Re: Multi-Area OSPF
I am not sure what happen but everything is working now. Here is what I think the issue was: In PT you have the ability to visualize the network traffic. I happened to notice that the buffer was filling up rather quickly due to the amount of routers I have (18+). Today I opened PT without launching the simulated traffic… -
Re: Balancing Certifications & Revisions
@docrice I second you that these days, a day just don't have enough hours. There're too many subjects & books to pick up & go over again. Plus more subjects to study & get certified in. :) I don't understand what you mean by stretching self too thin though... @N2IT It's challenging to keep up and I love every moment of it.… -
Re: Degree Program(InfoSec/PenTesting) - Advice Please
Take a step back on the certifications. You can't do everything. You shouldn't even do half of everything. Few roles, even generalist roles, will have you so involved in every aspect of security that you would want to look at all that. CCIE security, OSCP, and CISA server very different roles. You'll need to take a step… -
Re: Do you turn off your home lab when not using it?
Good point -- worth mentioning -- 4 routers (one acting as a frame switch) will get you through the CCNA.... 5 will get you through the CCNP (the frame switch can be a regular router for those BGP senarios). And make it 9 (adding the frame switch) routers for the CCIE. As for the 2 3550s -- yeah, 1 would be nice for the… -
Re: Linux certs worth anything?
I think this is the type of thread that strays off-topic pretty quickly. The issue here isn't "which is better", but rather, "does the IT industry place any value on Linux/Unix certifications". Asking which OS is better is like asking which is better: air or water. Once again, no matter what personal opinions anyone has… -
Re: CCIE Written
At first I thought Kenny's new avatar was wearing sun glasses, then I looked closer. Now I'm guessing lack of sleep with an attempt to compensate with caffeine -- and the Airborne cap is a motivational tool. HooRah Sgt. Airborne! Well, this will be shear speculation on my part since I haven't done the written yet -- and… -
Which certification would you start with if cost is a factor?
Hey guys! I am going to be attending WGU, but part of their requirements is that I need one certification before I begin. I was going to get CompTIA A+ out of the way, but the total cost without vouchers comes in around $376.00. It is also included with WGUs' program for free. Since I am going to be paying tuition anyway,… -
Re: Resumes Dos and Don'ts guide line for getting contacted
I am a somewhat new member to this site, and I just want to thank everyone for all the posts and information that you have shared throughout the forums. I have taken a CCNA focused course through my college in the fall, but I never had the time to actually take the CCNA exam. Instead our final dealt with a hands on… -
Randomly Selected for Audit for the CISSP
Hello TE, The objective of this post is to have a discussion and share your ISC2 audit experience for those that went through an audit by them. This thread is needed because most Google search results are discussions that are over 4 years old or for people that took the exam in Asia and especially Malaysia. I am aware that…
