eLearnSecurity PTSv3 and eJPT
Hi, as there are not so much reviews ATM about this course and certification, though I could as well add one as I believe it deserves some attention. I was a total noob on pentesting to be honest. Let's say I knew the basics of networking and stuff, but had no idea on how to use the "tools" properly. I'd looked into the… -
Re: CISM exam in 1 week!
Try to get busy with something else , I'm having multiple plans at the same time to keep me busy, in 2 months I should be done by CEH self-study. They had the speaker like 1 meter away from my head and I almost had a heart attack every time the proctor says anything. but was all good. I didn't revise any question: for me… -
Re: My IT Career so far
@OP - Sounds like you're really interested in security which is great. The CCNP is fun. If you concentrated it in security, it definitely would get you a lot of attention and you would learn a LOT from it. As far as getting a lab together, you could use GNS3 and/or buy a lab off ebay. I ended up getting myself a nice… -
Re: Got'r done
Indeed. I've done this once or twice or before... I decided to go with Knob Creek and an Ashton ESG this time around. Caught up? Doesn't that imply that I'm not going to do anything over the next week and a half ;) Will do. Why? I do have a few in progress ;) It's really not as much as it sounds. I'm not starting any of… -

Re: IAPP CIPM Certification
I'm the guy with a target on his back putting out fires. :) But seriously though, I'm a GRC Manager. I make sure we have our audits running smoothly, take care of any issues, prep the IT teams, internally assess security practices, do strategy, deal with exceptions, make sure internal audit is happy, give guidance on… -
Re: Simulation question
Very correct, a pass is a pass. Yeah I found that as well. The simulation questions didn't put you exactly into the scenario. You must do this... okay cool now what... lets see.. this is disabled... that isn't... ahh mayyyyybee.. - That was my strategy. I used the MOC book, worked through the labs and the text examples.… -
Re: Course grading, brick-mortar vs. WGU?
I am three courses into the MS:ISA program. You basically have to write papers for most courses. Each course may consist of 3 or 4 tasks. Your paper is submitted to Taskstream which is graded according to the rubric for the assignment. You must receive a competent rating (which may be a 3 or a 4 depending on the scale of… -
Re: Cert/study path to Infosec Analyst?
Well I'm still on the fence about pen testing, I've never done it, so I really don't know. I grabbed a book on the CEH and I'm looking into the details for the OSCP to see if it is something I really want to dig deep into. Moving isn't really an option right now with a family, but there are openings around here, I'm not…
