Re: GIAC Certifications
Yes, but a single GIAC certs is not so as powerful as a single CISSP cert. Usually on job, you would often seen 'GIAC' as an requirement but not a specific type. GIAC is a technical hands on type of certs, but most job are looking at CISSP for compliance work. However, in certain fields, Pentesting, Forensics, Intrusion… -
Re: CISA is a paper based / scantron exam? Why no CBT? & why only x3 a year? / no late
computer based testing? they don't want people to ****. all of these organizations have a limited bank of questions. if just one person a year leaks out 150 questions, that instantly invalidates a substantial portion of the questions they use on tests. if they only have 1000 questions in the CISA test bank then 15% of the… -
Re: Anyone on the OSCP journey soon?
Hi all Thought I introduce myself as I plan to do a lot of posting on my journey through OSCP: Finished my MSc (security) about a year and a half ago, and teach part time at the university while holding down a full time job as well. I have done the CISSP years ago and found it basic, but to be fair it does not claim to… -
Re: Should I not get a degree, and just get certs?
I never had a degree. My first job to second job was a 30% pay jump, my second job to 3rd was a 80% pay jump to a fortune 500 company. I earn higher than 75% of the people at my age in my country. Short answer. I am a living example. Long answer, its all about ROI. Compliance or Technical Path. A degree usually brings to… -

While interviewing for IT Security position, hopefully you can get into the 'secondary consideration' range because the budget for primary consideration is not enough. The… -

My 10 years illusive Journey to CISSP is officially over. Passed yesterday on the 2nd attempt at 150
First thanks to this wonderful community. I started my journey with CISSP back in 2011, when you need to take the exam on paper. Man! I remember my you know what was glued to the chair for 5.5 hours and that poor thing went NUMB for a good amount of time once I was done with the exam, and failed with a 600 score. First,… -
Re: Biz management self study?
There are some great opportunities for self-study if you have an interest in business management. Like in IT, the topics will vary greatly depending on what aspect or area you are interested in. Also like in IT, most degree programs that I've come across don't really give you the real-world experience that is needed.… -
Passed CISSP 6/3/2016
Hi All, Passed the CISSP about 2-3 hours ago and was my first attempt. Oh what a relief it is. It only took me 3 hours and 20 mins which kind of scared me but felt so relieved when I got the notice back that I passed. Surprisingly going through it, I felt it was a lot easier than I expected, or after these 5 months… -
