Re: Took CISSP Exam last Saturday in FL - I am sure I flunked!
First, let me say that I deliberated long and hard over which certification to pursue. DoD 8570.1-M applies to me currently and of course I hope to move up in the future. I considered the Security+ cert. And I have HEARD rumors that the ISC(2) CAP exam will be accepted as an IAM II or possibly even IAM III next revision.… -
Re: A+ Token Ring Question
I have worked on FDDI networks repeatedly in my career. FDDI is fiber redundant token ring network, the acronym means Fiber Distributed Data Interface. When one station has a frame worth of information it holds the token (which is just a frame) until the dataframe is completely sent. There can be exceptions to this… -
Re: Job outlook for CCNPs vs. CCNAs
Getting back to the original question, a CCNP is valued way beyond a CCNA (and a CCIE is more or less priceless unless you're a total jerk). However..... The CCNP (or the CCNA) will only get you an interview if you can make it past the HR people. The admin who interviews you will usually be the one who decides if you get… -
Re: Diablo 2 help?
Is this on battle.net? All my characters are probably deleted after not being used anymore. So much for a free service As for barb skills, I remember it being tough until you get whirlwind, after you get that you want to make sure you get mana leeching gear and start bumping up your health/mana shouts for more mana. After… -
Re: On my way to $0.00 debt, help needed
In the short run, closing the excessive credit cards is worse for your credit, but in the long run better. You will take a hit by now closing the excessive credit cards. However, as dynamik pointed out, having the potential to rack up a lot of debt with the total amount of existing credit cards will cap your credit scores.… -

Re: "I got it up, but cant get in!
lmao at the title to this thread :D Vi is awesome once you spend a bit of time learning how to use it. Its probably my favourite text editor; and i use it for pretty much everything :] (id be tempted to suggest trying Emacs; but its my most hated app ever ever ever ><) Seems a bit strange getting stuck at that point. With… -
Re: Does your helpdesk actually help?
I refer to ours, uncreatively I might add, as the no help desk or helpless desk. All they do is forward work orders. I never see any effort whatsoever to actually try troubleshooting the problem before escalating. If the work order even mentions that an IP address might be involved, it's automatically escalated. Had one a… -

Re: Which program is better for future job oppournity?
From your fellow Canadian eh~ I would strongly recommend getting at least your college diploma. College (public OR private) certificates are not valued highly in our country, having one simply says you didn't sit around for 12-16 months while you were unemployed. I've heard good things about BCIT, and I would invest the…
