Re: CCIE changes
Seriously don't let any of these rumours, or even if they are confirmed, about hardware changes put you off. You will find a way to work through it, we all do. Yes hardware and rack rental are relatively cheap now for the current tracks but that wasn't always so. When I started my CCSP putting together even a half decent… -
Re: Certification Paths?
One thing to keep in mind is that the specialties are designed with progression in mind. The CCNA Security, for example, is designed to give you an overview of what you'll be encountering on the CCSP path. After all, there was a time when the only certification Cisco offered was the CCIE, the CCNA and CCNP were created to… -
Re: Almost passed!
Yeah, the Simlets can get confusing -- even after you've done a few. I "next buttoned" one during a CCSP exam. I thought, "Yes, I'm ready for the next Simlet Question" when the popup asked me if I was sure. Since I still got a pretty good score and probably got a couple other questions wrong, I guess that a Simlet is at… -
Re: # of CCNPs
From "Certification Statistics" thread at the Cisco Online Support web site Cisco is proud to announce that we currently have over 600,000 certified individuals in our growing Career Certification Program. This number includes all individuals worldwide certified at the CCNA, CCDA, CCNP, CCDP, CCIP and CCSP levels of… -
Re: SSCP Pass
Like you, I am taking the summer off for studies.. but this year I am trying to build the momentum for the CISSP. I had the opportunity to go to VeeamON to take the VMCE class, so I did a pause in my study to do the VMCE exam. I am taking family holiday in July so I knew I won't be 100% focused on my studies but I dont… -

Re: Which path should I take
I haven't taken ISCW yet but the material isn't difficult imo. Probably the toughest thing in it is the ipsec stuff, but it's really not that difficult once you understand the concepts. After that, remembering all the individual pieces you have to configure is cake. ONT was easy imo. I don't know how fast you study so… -
Re: What certification to go for next?
If you do work specifically with AWS than sure that sounds like a good idea. If you wanted a general cloud security cert I would go for CCSP. I wouldn't get Linux+ just to get better at pen testing personally. I also wouldn't get CASP but that just me. Don't think the cert adds a lot of value. (not that the knowledge in… -
Re: Project+ in a week and a half
Very true on that. I've already been through the Cisco academy back in '02 '03. I really enjoyed it and I'm sure that's the way I'm going to want to go long term. I also loved the Security+ material so I want to go that way. I feel as though not having a track that can support both the Cisco and Microsoft security sides of…
