Re: Help Please For HND Student Project (Thank You)
Are you creating just a project plan for this? Or are you doing the actual (mock) interviews, design, and then the implementation and testing in a lab? So the scope of your project is limited by what's been taught in class? With no WAN, I'd find out if the scope of possible projects is limited to a small/medium business… -
CISSP: When to certify?
I got my CISSP last month and have since been trying to transition out of my network admin position and into a fully-focused security role. Study material: Shon Harris' all-in-one, CBK study guide, learnkey CBTs, and cccure.org online test sim. I sifted through several other CISSP books at the local bookstore as well… -
Re: CCIE in decline?
I agree with this a lot. I was heading down the CCSP/CCNP:Sec road a few months ago and then changed jobs based on experience not certs. I found that with Cisco on the decline against Juniper and my new job not having anything to do with Cisco equipment...it wasn't worth it to me to stay on that track. On the flip side… -
Re: New Job Network Engineer
We're in the same state your working on CCSP very nice. Yes I started from the bottom, when I realized having a BSCS was not enough to land a quick job. PC Technician - Network Engineer with the last 7 years mostly network administration. Can't call myself a PRO like Mike said welcome to the big, with hardwork I will start… -
Re: What should i do
Actually, I think Cisco contracts out for the "official courseware" -- and that may be sufficient in itself for a motivated student (without the class), unfortunately it isn't available for sale without the class. There are the "Cisco Press" titles that are available that we suggest -- but those aren't written or published… -
Re: Just Passed CSA+
I think what is even more amazing is the willingness to admit using examdumps. That is a good way for Certs to be revoked. It is also pretty frustrating where I just put in many hours studying for the CCSP and SSCP (passed both) to see this is what I have to compete against for jobs. I have purchased three CySA+ books,… -
Re: does anyone know what is meant by this??
Yes, from what I have seen with the new courseware they are going to "leak" a little more from the professional level (CCNP/CCSP) into the ICND 2 course, it's going to get harder boys ad girls. I would advise anyone preparing for ICND or the composite CCNA exam to get it done before the deadline. However the technology… -
Re: Value of CCNA in market
I suppose the value of a CCNA depends on your goals. If you are happy with a low to mid-level IT job - a CCNA can suffice quite nicely. I find a great deal of regard for ANY Cisco cert. Having said that - it would be a mistake to think that a CCNA cert is a ticket to your dream job. It takes experience, practice, and study… -
Re: CISSP -- Certification Should i go for it
Hussain if you have the money, go for SSCP (doesn't have great value in India). But SSCP will prepare you for CISSP and is worth it. If you want to go for technical side of security (analyst, architect or engineer) go for GIAC certifications. Certification Roadmap If you want return for money *quick* for the cert but want… -
Re: BCMSN versus BSCI
Really in ma world i'd say you go just as it is... but not to say that you can't start from just about anywhere you want to! at the end of the day, you will still be a CCNP!! which is the key thing you need! Eniac... really either of them is ok... but i went ISCW first and it was intresting for me cos of the VPN stuff…
