Just started exploring the world of IRC and was wondering if anyone had any favorite channels they found helpful or cool.

    Well, depends what you're looking for.
    I for one use the Freenode network.
    any programming language, security / virtualization platform you can think of has a channel there.

    Well damn, I've been on IRC about 18 years now wow.. it aint what it used to be. I'm in #cisco on freenode / #windows-server and #vmware

    dalnet used to be good, but I havent seen much action out of it in years. Freenode I think is the best for the geek

    IRC is great. I've been on it for about 10 years now. It depends on your interest. For networking I enjoy #cisco, for linux it depends on the distro. I like #slackware and #centos.

    I don't get on IRC too often these days but if I do it's usually on freenode; #cyanogenmod, #archlinux, #powershell.
