Dont you hate it when..

You are configuring some new devices remotely and accidentally miss type a password in the config and cant reset remotely..

I thought I would spend the evening setting up some WLC's (WISM2), but must have miss typed the admin password on one so can't complete it!! Wish I had patched in the terminal server like i would do with production devices..

Now going have to do something else till i get to work tomorrow.. Or i could drive to work and sort it out..

I have done this more than once... I am now in the habit of typing it into Notepad or my configuration journal and then using copy & paste to put into the live config. I still mistype passwords this way, but at least I can get back into the device.

Done that before. I was lucky though - tried the usual password with CAPS-LOCK enabled and it worked - on my laptop I did it once and didn't notice NUM-LOCK was enabled ... which effectively turned characters into numbers.

Since then I always try to re-type using either CAPS or NUM lock - depending how I may have messed up

Very common here are also passwords with " or @ ... switches around between US and UK keyboard (always test notepad before I change passwords)
