Thanks to Almighty, Today I passed my CISSP exam in 1st go .I would like to thank my family for their prayers my study buddies Saad, Manssor & Ali for their company and this forum for giving me insight into how to pass exam. My Background: I am an accounts graduate with less than 1 year experience in IT Auditing however… -

Trying Harder, an OSCP Journey
As I'm finishing up my PMP prep and getting ready to take the exam, I'd decided I was done with certs. Definitely any cert where you need to read and take a multi-choice exam for sure, but was thinking certs in general. Well last week my manager shocked me and told me he resigned, which really sucks for me. Aside from him… -
Ordered ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer home-study course
Hi! I sat-and-passed the CISSP in December 2014 and the CISA in December 2015 (top 20%) and then thought, what to do next? I passed both on the first go so my ego was tickled enough to make me think I can pass certification exams with little woe. Of course I might crash-and-burn and come unstuck, but while I'm seemingly… -

Re: eJPT or eCPPT?
Thank you NetworkNewb and yoba222 for your replies. I haven't made my mind up yet. I don't mind going for the bigger certs. I am fairly top heavy on the blue team side of it with CISSP, CISM, CISA, CASP etc. Not sure I would necessarily call them harder certs though. Unfortunately I only have CEH (which I wouldn't really… -
Re: Where to go from here
Dear friend, in my case cert choices are always based on current and future career shaping & development. I mean never drift too far from your working experience, but steadily steer education towards your desired job perspective in order to qualify for its requirements. Eg. Assume John Doe aged 22 IT Engineer Is Now… -
Re: BS in Computer Science then 10 years blank, what now?
If you already have a BS in Computer Science, it wouldn't make sense to get back into school and get a less technical degree. I would say that your biggest obstacle is probably a simple one to fix: Updating your knowledge and making yourself a tad more marketable. Certifications will definitely help with that. I'm not sure… -
Re: Security certification - where to start?
Good security engineering route depends on what you want to specialize in. I've seen way too many people that memorize nist 800-53, iso 27000, itil, cobit... and claim they are security engineers. These people are not security engineers, they are auditors or security managers. if you are looking to become a well rounded… -
Re: Vendor neutral certs
I find the comments in this post strange and interesting... Here are my thoughts: 1. If you have you degree in CS than you don't need a MBA, unless you are planning to get OUT of I.T. and enter another area at some point. It is possible that once you become an IT manager, for example, that you may want to go for VP or CEO…
