Re: What certs best complement the CISSP? What certs do most CISSPs have?
It depends on what you want to do. In addition to the CISSP, I have a CEH, a CISA, and have passed the exams for CISM and CRISC. I'm slow in doing the paperwork on the last two, because then you have to maintain them with money and CPEs. I'm currently working on OWSAP, and Linux+. So I try to balance technical and… -
Question if I can get the CISSP Certification
Hey everyone. Currently, I have a CISA and just passed the CRISC. I am working in internal audit for a company where I also help out in IT auditing. I have been doing this for about 3 years now and I want to move more towards the IT side of things. I was planning on taking the CISSP, but, I don't think 5 years of IT audit… -
Do I need CASP?
Hi guys following in the mighty footsteps of 'averageguy' I have tried to reboot my career, I feel i have a lot of skills around being a PM but wanted to go from declining sector to a growing one (info Sec) so I have done: ISC2: SSCP and CISSP - all done and endorsed Cisco cyber Ops: and may do Pro early next year Comptia:… -
Another CISM exam pass
Hi Everyone, Some people were dubious my plan would work, but it did. I didn't buy the QAE (book or online) as it was out of my price range and I didn't want to wait for the book to be delivered. I watched through the ITProTV videos, and did their practice exams. I was getting high 80%. Also used a few CISM question apps… -
Passed CEH
Score was a 99, tested today. Study started with Skillport CEH CBT which is official Ec Council. Then I reviewed the official courseware which pairs with the CBT nicely. Going into this weekend I still didn't feel like I was in the 90% range for passing. So I crammed the Matt Walker and Sybex. I don't like doing practice… -
Re: What to go for next?
For GIAC courses, had your company to send you for them instead of studying for yourself. They cost about 5k and give poorer ROI than CISSP unless you self study for them, which is very hard. GIAC courses yields good ROI only when you do not have the 4 years of experience to be eligible of CISSP, hence that is where GIAC… -
Re: What certifications? Director Level
Congratulations on your promotion and new role! I don’t necessarily agree that certifications are useless. At a director or higher positions, certifications simply play a very different role in career development. I am curious why you are seeking to attain certifications? Is it primarily for self-enlightenment and… -
Re: question on path to security
Security is very broad and networking is a sliver of infosec. It depends on what aspects of security you are interested in. The base certification is CISSP. Pretty much all my peers hold that cert. Infosec managers will also hold a CISM or CIPP. Risk folks will hold CRISC. IT auditors, testers, and managers hold CISA.… -
Re: Rudy Giuliani appointed Cybersecurity Czar...?
Infosec covers a wide range of topics at different levels; from management to policy to engineering. Joomla 3.1.1? Hope he gets engineering folks in his team. A few pen testers will help. Anyway, the site is not accessible as there are no DNS records. FWIW, my local ISC2 chapter website was on a Joomla version that EOL 2… -
Passed CISM
First of all I would like to thank this community as I have been lurking her since 2007. CISM QAE Database *Major Key - DJ Khaled Voice*** - I studied the DB until I saw all of the questions and I answered them correctly while working to understand the concepts. It really helped on the test, because I saw how one word…
