This month I've just booked my QoS exam (Aug 1st) and my CISSP exam (Oct 17th) so thats around £500 spent on training this month eek ! yeah I'm thinking along those line too viper I've already got a… -
Re: Passed 70-237
Comment by dynamik · · Home› Certification Preparation› Microsoft› Exchange Server & Office Communications Server ExamsI know the feeling. I'd love to branch out, but at the same time, I kind of want to stick with it since I'm currently working with it, and it's fresh in my mind. I'm looking at the Enterprise Admin and Enterprise Messaging Admin after my MCSE. I might do that Sharepoint exam to get a little more familiar with that.… -
Re: DoD 8570/8140 Degree programs
This is about it for degrees that map to 8570-compliant certifications. There are a few online degrees I've seen that base their entire curriculum on the CISSP domains, with the certification being the "crowning achievement", but nothing beyond that. If you're interested in the DoD space, take a look at NSA/DoD Centers of… -
Re: Looking for advice on Software Development domain
You need to know how software works before you can understand how to secure it. Only the largest application Security InfoSec books will go over the basic concepts of software design and implementation. Of course, learning to be a programmer from online courses is a good way to go, but that's a lot of work just to learn… -
Re: SANS extension fee
No, there are very few SANS courses or GIAC certs that are targeted specifically at the Federal and DoD space. A cert being on the DoD 8570.01 list does not make it a "Federal cert." Instead, it means that the Feds have servers and routers and security problems just like in the private sector. ;) It depends on what area(s)… -
Re: Starting to prepare for SANS Certifications
Depends on what you want to do... Out what you said: CEH (beginner pen-testing cert), CISA (auditing cert), CISM(managerial cert), and SANS(pretty much anything just depends with what course you take) Pick whatever an area of security that interests you and then look at certifications. Just saying Info Sec field doesn't… -
Re: Failed 668 - Advice needed
I would recommend reading the CISSP Official CBK at least once. It didn't help me out a lot but it gave me enough of an understanding of all the different concepts not covered to at least make an informed guess on the actual test. Practice test, practice test, practice test. I spend more time doing these to prepare for the… -
Re: Need advice for a career in security
Unless things are drastically different in the UK neither the CISSP nor the C|EH should in any way shape or form be considered a 'Master's' equivalent or otherwise. I have comfortably completed both exams in about two hours apiece where my Masters degree took a little over a couple of years. I could have worked harder but… -
Re: Cybrary.it Entry Level CyberSecurity Analyst
lol to cheating. We are adults. Children ****. Cheating will ruin the rep of Cybrary and mine. Yes, I am using as a learning tool for example. I suck at Risk Management and it brought it to light. so I am reading everything about Risk Management as a whole, currently reading CISSP official book domain 3. A 100 pages of… -
Re: Security or Cloud, maybe a little of both?
So I am sort of in the same boat as you. I enjoy R/S/FW/etc but it gets old fast putting out fires all day long. Security wise the cloud security shouldn't be much more different than network security depending on what you are using to protect your cloud server farms. If you want to go that route then maybe finish up the…
