Re: should i add this to my resume?
I don't list courses or training. I do however bring it up that I have had training a specific area if the area is relevant to the position I am applying for. I know lots of people who will put " attending CISSP training , Attending MCSE training ..." those people eventually end up getting asked " so did you pass the test"… -
Re: CCSP practice exam
The official study guide has lots of online practice questions based on content from that book. The all-in-one comes with a CD, but I didn’t use it. I thought CCCure (not-free practice tests) were not very well written, and didn’t feel like the exam. I think the official study guide has all the questions you could possibly… -
Re: How valuable/useful are SANS certs?
1. SANS has the best material and training in the industry, period. 2. Not so much, but IMO undervalued among HR and recruiters and therefore have potential. Their exams are rather weak, not as convoluted as CISSP for example and are open book. I say not worth challenging them without taking a training, as SANS training is… -
Re: WGU MSCIA: Thoughts after 18 days
Awesome. You’re getting close to the end too right? To answer your question I didn’t feel FXT2 was necessarily longer than any other papers. I don’t do disaster recovery so I found it boring but my CISSP training despite being 6 years ago and knowledge of DR from being a sysadmin went a long way in helping me really just… -
Re: Finally got an offer
It will be for the air force. They did want a security +. I will be finishing my degree first but that will net me a sscp and ccsp as well as a itil foundations as well as an incident handler cert and encryption cert from ec council. After my degree I will either go for masters in cybersecurity or just go for certs. I want… -
Re: CEH Worth it after Sec+?
Good morning, After taking the security+ I sat for the CEH myself. 100% worth it both for educational and career options it opens up. After passing the CEH I got the books and prepared for the CHFI, CCSK and ISC2 SSCP for about two weeks each. I now hold all those certifications and I'm currently rocking on CISSP and CCSP… -
Re: Fellow of Information Privacy
Meh, I'm not sure. I put the big certs up high on my LinkedIn/resume, like CISSP/ISACAx4, and I think I would put this up fairly high as well. Edit: I mostly got it because a) it's free; b) it might help me with any privacy/governance/security writing or speaking opportunities in the future; c) privacy people might know… -
Re: Passed 07-16-16 1st Attempt
Hi Jayaleem, For me, passing CISSP is one of my goals (the other one is to learn as much as I can from this process). Maybe it's overkill for the exam, but reading chapter by chapter from different books did give me a pretty good knowledge fundation. So I'd say if you have plenty of time, go over both. Cornard book is… -
Re: PMP Boot Camp
Comment by beads · · Home› Certification Preparation› Other Certifications› Project Management CertificationsI did the SANS version for the education requirement of the PMP. It was alot of what I learned in my MBA program overlayed with the PMBOK. Once you learn the Tools, Techniques and Procedures and where the inputs, outputs and tools all reside and where - easy. Oh and through in those formulae at the end when your ready to… -
Re: Executive/Management Job Sites
Wishing to transition from gov to commercial sector... 25 years IT with last 10 in cyber-security/infosec, lot of project management and cert/accred... currently at the MACOM level in defense... I've looked at ladders, but really bad reviews, also have to pay for it, so not willing to spend the money on a site that is…
