Re: CISSP or CEH = lots of doubts
Yeah, apparently 'castilian' spanish from what my wife said since she reads/writes/speaks fluently but she speaks like south-of-the-border Spanish. This is what it should have been in English: IT Masters short course only briefly go over what you need to learn to pass the CISSP. Not allow you to fully understand all that… -
Re: Age Factor Big Deal?
I have been in the computer repair field for 14 years and only 2 years ago got A+ through the company I work for. They finally decided we need people certified. They paid for the training, test and paid the CompTia fees. I am 50 now. I know I am way out of the norm as far as age, but I bring alot of talent, wisdom and can… -
Re: question on layers and ports...
If you do a search in the forums here, you will find several topic about this neverending question. The only entirely correct answer is both. A NIC has both layer 1 and layer 2 functions, so either of these answers is correct, unless the other is listed, hence implied it is wrong. Not that it is a matter of opinion, but I… -
Re: Quick Rant! Failed CCENT with score of 801.
I took the Boson test twice and the last time I took it which was a day before the test, I got a 806 or something close to that. So, the Boson seems like a really good accurate way to gauge your weak areas. In fact, my CCENT test report is almost spot on with the Boson test report. I thought about rescheduling the test… -
Re: Completed A+
Yes, i did not find them very difficult. I used the Sybex Fastpass book for 220-601 / 302 / 603 / 604. http://www.amazon.com/CompTIA-%2B-Complete-Fast-Emmett-Dulaney/dp/0470048328/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1201205761&sr=8-3 I think the book did a good job of reviewing everything. Its a good book if you know the… -
Re: how do prepare to get Network+
Hi Zawhtetaung, Basically what you need to do is go to CompTIA website and get the Network+ exam objectives.http://www.comptia.org/certification/network/. Make sure you go through the different areas. I used Exam Cram2 book and the study notes form this site. I also used the Exam force question simulator which i taught was… -
Re: Looking for guidance
@catrhodes20 I would check out networkchuck on youtube, there's a buncha info I got from him and some others. I, myself am new to the forum and have little IT experience but from what I have learned through reddit/google/youtube (and anyone can correct me if I'm wrong) you should start with a CCNA or CompTia Network +. I… -

Re: Top cloud computing certifications to consider
EXIN Cloud is a foundation exam and covers the concepts of Cloud from a 10000 feet view and its for CXO's or CTO's level guys who need to have a overview of the cloud. Doesn't provide much by way on the nuts and bolts and its the same with Comptia as well, its pretty basic stuff Already working my way to the MCSE Private… -
Re: Where to start?
For the A+ exam I used Mike Meyer's all-in-one book . The book is a bible and covers absolutely everything on both tests. http://www.amazon.com/CompTIA-Certification-Edition-220-801-220-802/dp/007179512X I also recommend Professor Messer's videos. If you watch the entire course and read the book I mentioned you'll…
