Re: Which order to take these certifications?
I'm currently a penetration tester and have a base salary of $38,500 plus some commission. If I bill 18k (my quota) of work I receive an extra $660. The unfair part is I'm not in charge of getting the work because that's the security consultants (finalizes sales do ANA's), Project manager (scheduling), and sales team (sell… -
Re: Inherited a new person with no computer skills
I really liked this suggestion. Maybe I'm the only one that thinks that a CISSP probably wouldn't be a great idea for someone without the appropriate amount of work experience seems like a waste, perhaps a SSCP or Sec+/CASP? (I know you can get the associate if you pass but who wants to work and study that much to end up… -
Re: Another Master's program
I'm actually applying to this program and the one at UMBC for the coming Fall. I was talking to one of the coordinators/counselors and they said they didn't have any plans to introduce online/hybrid classes into the curriculum anytime in the near future, but that obviously could change as this major is less than a year old… -
Re: Fire-suppression in our server room.
Oh geez, I gotta know this stuff for the CISSP exam. Halon was replaced by FE-13 and FM-200 (Gaseous Fire Suppression). Hand-held extinguishers must be located within 50 feet of a doorway. CO2 is preferred for areas with no human occupants. Fire classes in America are: Class A (paper/wood), B (liquids/gasses), C… -

Re: eCPPT / PTP time to complete?
A few years ago I used to be a network engineer, switched to security and was trying to obtain CISSP, CEH, and PTP at the same time. PTP took me 8-10 months, I wasn't fully grasping concepts, and I bit off too much than I could have chewed. You are way more advanced than I was and have your GPEN, GWAPT, & CPT certs. You… -

Re: How to study for the CCENT/CCNA. [Tutorial]
Does anyone have any recommendation for sites with published flash card decks for Cisco (and other) cert exams? I was playing around with online flash card makers and found www,StudyDroid.com. It has many flash card decks that people have made and are publicly available. Try searching the site with the name of a cert exam,… -
Re: CCNA - Difficultly level
Based on other exams and the pure amount of material that might be covered an 8.5, (left room above for future exam, CISSP). I don't know how much time I spent/wasted on cable and fiber physics. I've noticed others rating CCNA exam much lower, I'm wondering compared to what. I would put my CompTIA experiances very low <5.… -
Re: Should I be studying for CCENT?
Thanks for the reply guys!! I would like to get into pentest/vulnerability assessments eventually. I plan on getting cysa this year (ceh is way to expensive). A few years down the line I'll take the cissp jump. I just don't want the cert to feel like a waste because I know I won't be doing much networking. 3 years down the…
