Red Hat Certification Questions
I currently work in a mixed Linux (mostly Ubuntu) and Windows environment and have decided that I really want to up my game with Linux specifically. I may also be looking for pure Linux administration/engineering role in the future (assuming things pan out). My questions are: -- Generally speaking (in the U.S.), what's the… -
Linux+ vs RHCSA
Pretty basic... How much more difficult is RHSCA than Linux+?? Linux+ is part of the WGU program so I am thinking, if I'm able to acquire the Linux+ within a decent time frame will it be possible to acquire the CCNA and RHSCA at the same time? I should have A+ Net+ and Sec+ within the first few months. -
Linux learning/certification path help
Hi everyone. I've been working with Linux (RHEL/CentOS) for about two years in various capacities. These past 6 months I've really started working a lot with RHEL at work, and CentOS at home (various CentOS 6 based VM's as well as a couple CentOS EC2 builds for site hosting) and I want to move into working more with Linux,… -
Re: Fresh CCNA with lots of Mac experience. Next move?
I am interested in Linux as well though I haven't explored it beyond a few basics. I do know some OS X terminal stuff along side of that as well. Can you give me an idea about where to start cert wise? RHCSA vs Linux+? Pros and Cons? Which distro would be good to work with specifically to compliment networking? -
Rackspace Open Cloud Academy
I was thinking about enrolling and doing the Linux Sys Admin track. Is there any benefit to paying to go through it versus studying the topics on my own? Assuming I take and pass the RHCSA after doing either option(academy vs. self-study), which method would employers look at more highly? I would hate to pony up the money,… -
Take RHCSA and RHCE at same time?
Hi all. I'm currently in the process of mapping out my attack on the Red Hat certifications, and have some questions regarding the possibility of taking both the RHCSA and RHCE together as part of the "Red Hat System Administration III with RHCSA and RHCE exams (RH255)" official Red Hat course. Some background: I've been a… -
Linux+ (3-in-1) vs RHCSA
Hi everyone, I'm currently exploring which path I should take for getting more Linux knowledge, and also increasing marketability. I have a Linux Academy monthly account right now, and they have tons of options. I already have a decent base of Linux knowledge, but I want a solid understanding to help my pentesting career… -
Re: Should I even bother with Linux+ ?
I got LPIC-1 back in the days before CompTIA gave up its control on their Linux+ cert in favor of LPI. If I was preparing now and it was LPIC-1 vs. Linux+, I'd go for the second. It is basically same, except the title. But still... If however, had to choose between Linux+ and RHCSA, I'd choose the second BUT would… -
Microsoft vs CCNA vs RHCSA career paths
Firstly this is my first post here so please be a little gentle. A bit of background: A+ 2001 while in college (4 weeks self study in free time) Net+ 2001 while in college (3 weeks self study) CCNA 2001 while in college (3 weeks self study), long expired (2004) Worked in SEO as entrepreneur until 2008 doing everything from… -
Changing Careers from Windows to Linux?
I seriously want to change directions in my career. Linux has always stood out as that change, but I have never jumped in and started learning as much as I should. I do have the basic understanding of Linux, but that is about it. I plan to change that. Before asking the questions, let me give a very basic overview of where…
