ISO27001 Lead Implementer - Where to sit an exam only
Hello all, I am looking to complete my ISO27001 Lead Implementer Exam to compliment my CISSP and CEH qualifications. I am not keen to do a boot camp for this as I believe I can get myself to the required standard to complete the exam. Can anyone suggest how to find somewhere I can sit the exam only and a rough cost, happy… -
Just Passed the SSCP...my take
Before today it had been 2 years since my last exam (Security+), but after 1 1/2 months of serious study I was able to pass the SSCP. Many people say that this exam is the same as Security plus. In my opinion the Security+ is more technical. Often during Security+ I felt like I was being tested for Net+, whereas the SSCP… -
How Security+ helped me
I'd like to share with you what happened with me. So I took the security+ exam earlier this year, just for the heck of it..and to broaden my security knowledge..Maybe to shoot for CISSP later in my career. A company called me last week, they said they found my CV on a job board, and they asked me about my CompTIA Security+… -
ASA Bootcamps
In my job I run Ironport and firewalls. I've learned quite a bit about the former but need some help on the latter (only cisco cert I have is CCENT). I have an an opportunity to request budgeted funds for a training course or two... does anyone have any recommendations for a Cisco firewall bootcamp, or learning course? So… -
Re: Suggestions needed :: Security+/SSCP/CEH
Welcome to the board ankurjai! I cannot be too much help to you, having only passed the Security+ exam. I do think it is a very credible certification to achieve. The CompTia exams have a reputation of being an excellent starting point on whatever topic you focus on. I think they help build a solid foundation of knowledge… -
Re: Degree Program(InfoSec/PenTesting) - Advice Please
I would forgo the forensic cert unless that is something that just really, really interesets you. Concentrate on finishing the degree first. As for the other certifications, CISSP, OSCP, Security+ would probably benefit you the most. The ECCouncil certs are good to have just to satisfy DoD 8570 but the Security+ and CISSP… -
Re: MS:ISA begins June 1
Weekly Call #6 Just finished my sixth weekly call with my Student Mentor. Now that I've completed FNV2 Ethical Hacking and my scores have been posted, I'll be trying to rush through the UVC2 Cryptography course, hopefully scheduling to take the exam next Friday (July 24th). As an aside for anyone accessing Skillsoft… -
Re: In a dilemma over work history...
If the CISSP is your long term goal, and since you are relatively young, I would start out doing some security work, not infosec but Security Guard work. I'm not making a joke just listen. Doing security guard work will start gaining you experience in one of the CISSP CBK domains which is Physical Security. I would do that… -
Re: Attempting CISA with no IT Security or Audit background.
My older brother told me I couldn't do IT because I am a girl. I was a manicurist at the time. I created a custom multiple user database with client profiles to manage my spa at the time. I found a new love. I decided to take the network+, A+, server+, Linux+, security+ and passed. I began my IT career as a developer. Then… -
Re: Passed with 850
SSCP is harder in my opinion , but Security+ is more tricky. In my opinion best preparation for Security+ would be Network+ wheres best preparation for SSCP will be watching CISSP videos or book, I know it sound strange, but reading cissp will not hurt. Exam wise, on SSCP you have tons of time, so you don't have that…
