PPP authentication Q
KGhaleon
I'm rather stumped about this, as I have multiple sources saying different things. When you set up authentication on an interface with PPP encapsulation, I know you need to give the hostname of the Remote router...but is it true that you must also use the Remote routers enable password?

nah, you set the password at both ends to what you want and if they match you will authenticate.

u have to configure password and username to each remote router u plan to connect and then only it will authenticate to both side. (sybex 4th edition p.n.487)

Just checking. I remember reading somewhere that you had to use the enable password, but whatever works.
