syslog - facility
sendalot
In configuring syslong, what does "facility code" do?
local1-7, etc.
Do they point where you would store the logs?
what does "level" do?
Is it how much detail you want to be logged?
Thanks.

logging facilities are a way by which a syslog daemon decides to send the information it receives.
you can configure all your routers to be a part of logging facility 5 and switches to be part of facility 4.
