PAgP vs LACP

in CCNP
Is there really any operational difference between the two? I know PAgP is Cisco proprietary, and LACP isn't. But other than that?

There probably are some minor differences and caveats for each, but the main difference really is open vs proprietary, as you state. -

you can have ports on standby using LACP not available with PagP, the switch with the highest LACP priority control the ether-channel and chose which port should be in based on port-priority or number .
