Dead end job to IT job

hello I'm 33 years old and I'm looking to get a career in the IT field. I would like to know what certs are companys looking for in 2014. I have my A+ cert but never used it. I'm pretty good with creating databases and spread sheets but I'm pretty sure that's old now. I need to know what's in demand and paying the most money in 2014.

    It very much depends on where you live.

    If you want to work remotely utilizing your A+ then support.com hires at about 11.00 an hour starting.

    Otherwise, proven DB's admin's are huge in the Seattle area.

    The truth? Experience.

    Lots of things are in demand. Sounds like you have experience with none of them. Just getting certs isn't good enough to land the big bucks. Aim at the help desk, figure out what you like to do, and work toward that.
