Need cert advice please!

I'm a beginner and have no formal IT work experience, but want to start a career in IT. I'm studying for the A+, but really struggling with all of the super technical stuff. I know I need to know the basics and all, but, the hardware technical stuff does not interest me as much as software does.

Is the A+ the right cert for me or should I be pursuing a different cert?

I'm using Exam Cram and Prof Messer for studying.

I'd really appreciate your feedback and help.

    Hey Micky73,

I would definitey stick with the A+ since you are trying to transition into IT with no formal work experience. Professor Messer is a good resource, keep up with it. You could also check out CBT Nuggets for another video reference.

I transitioned over to IT only a couple of years ago. As long as you work hard and have a little luck you should be able to make the transition. Best of luck.

A+ is definitely a good start. Gets your gears lubed for the bigger certs.
