Hi All,
So I've used this website for many things over the last few years and thought I would sign in. So last year I completed my A+, MTA: Network, Security and Server Administration Fundamentals and started on the Windows 7 70-680. I then took the 70-680 exam and failed with a score of 697 IIRC last January. The only exam I have ever failed in my life, I know Windows 7 inside and out and have been using it since release so the fail really threw me and I quit studying. It didn't just throw me off I was absolutely fuming as so many of the questions were not in any resources I had used.
-Train Signal
- CBT Nuggets
- Microsoft Virtual Academy
- MOAC Books
- Labs, lots of various labs
So as I said, I quit studying. Now I have just got married, and my thumbs are twitching with nothing to do. I used to game a lot but well, the gaming market is awful at the moment, just prettier but not as in depth versions of older games. I guess I have grown out of it a little.
I also completed my "Microsoft Specialist: Server Virtualisation using Hyper-V and System Centre 2012". I eventually want to achieve my MCSE: Server Infrastructure. I know that I don't need to do the Desktop exams to achieve this. But I want to do them just to have them and to re-affirm my knowledge to myself, my peers and future employers.
So my first questions
:- What study materials are you all using at the moment? I hate books, I learn by doing, so for me I have always used a lot of LABS and video learning. When I do read through the books I tend to do something alongside like makes notes or powerpoint docs.
:- what is the difference between the Windows 8 and 8.1 exams? I doubt there is much but if anyone knows off of the top of their head of any exam objectives that were added/tremoved or ammended it would be good to know.
:- How is everyone?
Thanks, I suspect now I am back on the study wagon I will spend more time around here so it would be good to get involved and get to know some of you more active members.

alokin123 Member Posts: 268I'd recommend you use either Transcender/Selftest or measureup. I found them to be extremely useful. I did the upgrade exam but its a combination of the two.
Until they change the exam format all the labbing in the world wont help you read a Microsoft worded question correctly
